Vitamin E
is one of the essential vitamins that we must use in our diet. It is an organic
compound. It is a plant-derived vitamin. It belongs to the fat-soluble vitamins
class. It occurs in many forms but alpha-tocopherol is one of the most important
forms which is used in the human body.
It was discovered by Evans and Bishop in 1922. Later on, the work about vitamin E is revealed in the 1930s. This work revealed the biological function of alpha-tocopherol and its chemical structure.
Chemical formula
It occurs in four different forms. α-, β-, γ-, and
δ-tocopherols. Among these four forms, only the alpha-tocopherol form is used within the human body. The chemical name is tocopherol.

are produced in the body due to a deficiency of vitamin E.
Due to deficiency of vitamin E, a form of anemia is produced in which red blood cells rupture.
Its deficiency also causes
impaired reflexes and coordination.
